Reasons to Not Eat Meat
(without referring to moral arguments.)

Land Use. People who don't eat meat use less land. Growing food for non-humans is inefficient and irresponsible.

Personal Economy. Fewer trips to the doctor.

Toxicity. People who eat lower on the food chain ingest fewer toxins.

The Meat Machine. Although non industrial sources of meat exist, the majority of meat-eaters get their meat through dubious sources. Mad-cow disease was just one example of food-scares that non-meat eaters don't have to worry about.

Common Mistakes about Nutrition Without Meat

Protein A diet without meat can contain plenty of protein. Cereals and grains, Leafy green vegetables, Legumes, Nuts, Seeds, Soy products, Other Vegetables, Eggs, Cheese, Milk, Yogurt are all sources of protein.

Iron The rate of Anemia (lack of iron) is the same for meat-eaters and non-meat-eaters.

Vitamin b12 If you eat eggs and cheese, this shouldn't be a problem. Vegans (who don't eat/use any animal-derived product) can supplement this vitamin by eating nutritional yeast or vitamin B12 fortified soy milk.

Rice+Peas

What we have here is some Tofu that was better than the usual Tofu. This one has Flax seeds (semi di lino). Beside that there's some Peas, and then the topper - Some Cauliflower and Broccoli put in the oven with some Panna and some Parmasan (I believe, didn't check that).

Minestrone
Minestrone Again...This time with a really hot pepper that I made the mistake of eating whole (last time). This time I took little bites and it burned for a while but not so bad.
Torta Salata

The other delight was a Torta Salata con Le Coste...Coste are similar to spinach, you can substitute spinach for it and it tastes similar. It had egg in it to hold it all together. The crust is just flour, water, oil, salt.
